The app

Voice is Local processes speech on your Mac with Apple's on-device speech recognition, on-device speaker-labelling models, and, if you turn on the misheard-word fix, Apple Intelligence running on your Mac. It never sends your audio, transcripts, speaker names, or voiceprints to Bjola or to anyone else. It has no account, no analytics, and no telemetry. Bjola cannot see, recover, or delete anything you record, because it never has it.

• Kept on your Mac: meeting audio, transcripts, speaker labels, the names you give speakers, and your corrections. Dictation audio is not saved.
• Voiceprints: only if you turn on Remember voices, which is off by default. Voice samples are stored in your Application Support folder and excluded from Time Machine; other backup tools may still copy them. You can forget one person's voice, or all of them, at any time, and deleting a meeting can also forget the samples learned from it.
• What leaves your Mac: dictated text goes into the app you're typing in, which handles it under its own policy. Files you export go where you put them. The app never writes to your clipboard on its own; only when you choose Copy. Your backups include your meetings.
• Downloaded once: Apple's speech model for each language you use comes from Apple, and the speaker-labelling models (about 21 MB) come from Hugging Face. Those servers see your IP address when you download. Nothing is uploaded.

Recording other people

You decide what to record. Recording laws differ by place, and many require the consent of everyone in the conversation. Voiceprints are biometric data about the people you name. With Remember voices on, each meeting's review window has a "Learn voices of people I name in this meeting" box that starts ticked; untick it unless everyone in that meeting agreed.

This website

• No cookies, no analytics, no tracking pixels, no embedded content.
• Fonts and images are served from this site. Your browser contacts no other server.
• The web server keeps standard access and error logs (IP address, time, page requested, browser identification) for security and troubleshooting, and deletes them after about two weeks.

Purchases

The app is not on sale yet. When it is, this page will name the payment provider and what it receives. Bjola will receive your name, email address, and order details from that provider, and use them only to deliver the app, handle refunds, and answer you.
